Recently on 20th March 2019; A meeting of the Empowered Committee, Elementary TET was held to discuss the carrying out a new TET Teacher recruitment. The validity of TET certificate of TET held in 2012 which has already expired and other related issues. During the meeting, it was decided to extend the validity of TET pass certificate up to March 31, 2020. As of now, the validity of the Teacher Eligibility Test is only for seven years as per the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). And these norms has already expired since the last ASSAM TET was conducted in 2012.

In the same meeting, it is decided that the tentative date for the new TET examination is to be September 22 or 29 and will be conducted for the Lower Primary and Upper Primary level in the State of Assam. Moreover, the question papers for Assam Tet 2019 will be printed in five mediums: which are Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, and English.

It is also decided for Assam TET 2019 online application a third party may be engaged so that the mode of submission and receipt of application will be online. It comes to notice that more than 36,500 posts of teachers are lying vacant in the schools of Assam which will hopefully be filled after the conduct of Assam TET 2019.
